Facing the trend of technological development, Trina Solar has been adhering to the concept of "mature one generation, reserve one generation" and started to reserve N-type technology as early as 2015, and promoted the industrialization of N-type TOPCon technology.

Trina Solar has taken innovation as its first development strategy and core driving force, built a comprehensive and leading scientific and technological innovation system , and its number of valid invention patents ranks first in China's photovoltaic industry.

Trina Solar actively promotes the standardization and regularization of the industry, and provides technical and practical support for the development of the industry by participating in the formulation and revision of standards in the fields of photovoltaic products and technologies. As of the end of 2023, we have led or participated in the formulation of 181 standards, including 126 published standards and 1 international standard .

Training, Development and Growth

The formula for the average hours of training per employee is the total employee training hours/ the average of the number of employees in this type at the end of 2022 and the number of employees in this type at the end of 2023.

In 2023, the formula for the percentage of employees trained was adjusted to take into account the existence of trainee departures, and the percentage of employees in each type of training was (total number of employees in that type of training (including departed employees) * (1 - the overall company turnover rate)) / the number of employees in that type of training. The formula for the percentage of employees trained in 2022 was the number of employees in that type of training / the number of employees in all types of training.

We care deeply about unevenly developed regions in China and overseas, and provide help and support to the best of our ability, give back to local communities, and make progress together with society. In 2015, Trina Solar donated 10 million RMB to establish the Sunshine Entrepreneurship Fund at the China Siyuan Project Foundation, actively guiding and helping poor students in western regions to create jobs and empowering local people to build their hometowns. At the end of 2019, the cultural activity center built by Trina Solar's "Siyuan Sunshine Entrepreneurship Fund" with a donation of 1 million RMB to Qunyi Village, Xinren Township, Qianxi County, Guizhou Province was officially completed, benefiting more than 20,000 people in the surrounding areas. At the beginning of 2022, Trina Solar Chairman Gao Jifan was awarded the honor of "Advanced Individual of China Democratic National Construction Association Participating in Poverty Alleviation" by the Central Committee of the China Democratic National Construction Association. In 2023, our total community contribution and public welfare investment funds amounted to 10.968 million RMB.

In 2023, The scope of Trinasolar's core supplier ESG management performance data for 2023 covers Cell and Module Business Unit, Rack Business Unit and Energy Storage Business Unit, and does not cover the Materials Business Unit for the time being.
